“I look back on the years that I played JGANC golf as some of the most important, formative, and fun years of my life. The tournaments were run extremely well and the competition was superb. I learned how to compete and become a better golfer playing all summer long in their tournaments. Our family didn’t have a lot of extra money, so I couldn’t afford to travel long distances out of state to compete. But, I didn’t need to. I had the best tournaments and competition right here in Northern California.
What I remember most is the friendship and camaraderie with the other kids. All the boys and girls hung out together, joked around and shared laughs. We learned how to compete and we learned how to socialize. I most fervently believe that playing in JGANC events built the foundation of my golf game and career. I learned what it was to fail and what it took to succeed. I grew as a player and as a person as I developed physically and mentally in an encouraging, competitive, fun, and safe environment.
I went on to play golf at UCLA and would not have made it there to play if it weren’t for junior golf in Northern California. I owe much of who I am today to the years spent playing JGANC golf and being positively influenced by everything surrounding this organization.”
