The Boys Junior America’s Cup is a prestigious international team competition established in 1973. Top junior boys (ages 14-18) from 18 teams across the Western U.S., Canada, and Mexico compete in a 54-hole event. Team Northern California proudly represents the region against elite competition each year. The event includes a practice round, 3 tournament rounds, opening and closing ceremonies, a tournament banquet and a social event. Being chosen to represent your state/country to play in the Junior America’s Cup is one of the highest honors in boys junior golf.
HOW DO I PLAY FOR TEAM CALIFORNIA?
The no. 1-4 rated boys from the six qualifying events in the 14-18 division will be invited to represent Northern California in the 2026 Boys Junior Americas Cup. Players must be between the ages of 13-18 on July 30, 2026 and be a full-time California resident. Players will be chaperoned by team Captains. There is no cost to the player to participate, all travel and accommodations are provided by the JGANC.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Participating in this event helps give players more exposure during their recruiting process. With WAGR, AJGA, and JGS awarded for participation, it helps their junior golf rankings. There are over 20 college coaches from all over the country that travel to the event to find new recruits or secure a commitment. It helps prepare juniors to be play in high level team events which will help them transition to the college level easier.

Many former participants have gone on to become successful Tour players, and its likely many of this year’s participants will follow in the footsteps of other famous JAC alumni such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples and Corey Pavin. Other notable participants include Ricky Barnes, Notah Begay, John Cook, Jason Gore, Charley Hoffman, Peter Jacobson, Steve Jones, Anthony Kim, Joel Kribel, Casey Martin, Billy Mayfair, Ryan Moore, Kevin Na, Pat Perez, Chris Riley, Scott Simpson, Duffy Waldorf and Mark Wiebe.

The JGANC Teams will be determined by the results of these 6 qualifying events. Players can earn team points to qualify for the JGANC Teams.

After the last event, boys with the most points from all six events will be totaled, and the top 4 players will have the first choice of which team they would like to play on. We will move down the list until all teams have been filled.
