The JGANC Player of the Year is determined through our comprehensive divisional points system. Earn points in local, state, and national events to compete for top honors. This system has helped develop generations of champions. The JGANC point system is used for awarding divisional points. Divisional points are used to determine Divisional Cup Championship, All Stars invitations, Co-ed Cup, Player of the Year. See Player of the Year history here.
1. Tournaments are classified as National, State, JGANC Points Event, or Invitation.
2. Divisional points are given in the junior’s age group only.
3. A junior must be a member of the JGANC prior to an event to receive points in that event.
4. For outside events that earn points, it is the responsibility of the junior to verify their placement in the event. This verification may be done by sending a link to the event’s leaderboard and a photo of the scoreboard to the JGANC office.
5. Invitational events do not receive points of any type.
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR POINTS DETERMINATION
- Only active members of the association, whose dues have been paid prior to the event, are eligible to receive points for any given event.
- In the event of a tie, equal points are given to players who tie. As an example, if two players tie for second place, the second and third place points are totaled and divided by two. The next player would then receive fourth place points.
- If a junior golfer is disqualified for misconduct in any event, the junior is subject to a loss of points or further disciplinary action at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
- Points are rounded to the nearest half (1/2) point.
- Non-members do not receive points and their finishing position in a points awarded spot is not tabulated.
DIVISIONAL POINTS RULES
- When there are twenty (20) or more players in an age group, points are awarded to the top ten (10).
- The overall winner will be awarded the overall trophy but not the division 1st place trophy; the 1st place trophy will be awarded to the next player in line. However, the overall winner still earns the 1st place division standing and the 1st place divisional points as it reflects the player’s performance within his/her division.
- Divisional points are used to determine invitations for the Divisional Cup Championship.

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Invitations are sent to overall champions based on strength and size (minimum of 10) of the field and score. Conduct, sportsmanship, and No-show record are also factors used to determine TOC invitations. JGANC members are eligible to participate in the TOC regardless of age, thus nineteen year olds may participate.
ALL STAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Invitations are sent to top divisional points earners in the following age groups; Boys 12-13, 10-11, 7-9, Girls 12-13, 10-11, 7-9. Conduct, sportsmanship, and No-show record are also factors used to determine All Stars invitations.
USGA JUNIOR AMATEUR-BOYS/GIRLS
- Winner: 100
- Runner-up: 75
- Semi Finals (3rd-4th): 50
- Quarter Finals (5th-6th): 35
- 9th-16th: 20
- 17th-32nd: 10
- State qualifiers receive 15 points.
- National qualifiers receive 25 points
- National medalist earns 25 points.
CALIFORNIA STATE GIRLS
Championship flight qualifiers receive 10 divisional points. For each championship match won 10 divisional points are awarded. Helen Lengfeld flight earns 5 divisional points per match. Points are not given for consolation flights. Starlets earn stroke play divisional points for number of days played. No points are given to the alumni flight.
